    Next LaW's timeslot chart:

    bit.ly/swfctimeslots

The page below is a time weighted ranking of legions based on all past LaW top 100 rankings. Similar to the point systems and tier systems you all love or hate, this is not the be-all and end-all "My ship can beat up your ship" list, but a general ranking of strength based on past performance. This is strictly for fun and should not be taken too seriously, as it holds no true value.

    http://swfcstats.com/legion-ranks

Please note: I DO NOT HAVE ALL THE TOP 100 RANKINGS SO THIS IS NOT CURRENTLY 100% ACCURATE. PLEASE HELP ME FILL IN THE BLANKS! ANY MISSING RANKS ARE LISTED AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE.

Also please report any legion name changes or mergers to me when possible!

You are penalized for any blank space so if you want your rank to be accurate then submit your ranks! If you're legion's ranks are not accurate let me know. Also, please check your phones for screenshots of past "Rival Rankings" lists that may help me fill in blanks.

Special thanks to @KCJERBOY for tracking past Top 100s. Also thanks to @Zarrin for helping with the math. We are open to ideas for adjustments to the ranking formula or even completely new formulas. If you think you can make a better formula let me know.

    How does this work?
    Spoiler

The ranks are based on the sum of two different formulas. Both are time weighted. They count each law as a percent based on recency and total number of LaWs. So as of writing this we just ended LaW VI (6), so LaW VI ranks would be taken at 100% value (6/6), LaW V ranks would be taken at 83.33% value (5/6), LaW 4 would be taken at 66% value (4/6), and so on. When LaW 7 is over it would change to 100% (7/7), 85.71%(6/7), 71.42%(5/7), etc. This will help account for legions getting stronger or weaker over time moving appropriately up or down the rankings.

    Formula 1 (Consistency Rating):
    Code:
    =IF(LaW I>0,SUM(((101-LaW I)*0.01*(1/6)),(2/6)*IF(LaW II="",-1,((101-LaW II)*0.01)),(3/6)*IF(LaW III="",-1,((101-LaW III)*0.01)),(4/6)*IF(LaW IV="",-1,((101-LaW IV)*0.01)),(5/6)*IF(LaW V="",-1,((101-LaW V)*0.01)),IF(LaW VI="",-1,((101-LaW VI)*0.01))),IF(LaW II>0,SUM(((101-LaW II)*0.01*(2/6)),(3/6)*IF(LaW III="",-1,((101-LaW III)*0.01)),(4/6)*IF(LaW IV="",-1,((101-LaW IV)*0.01)),(5/6)*IF(LaW V="",-1,((101-LaW V)*0.01)),IF(LaW VI="",-1,((101-LaW VI)*0.01))),IF(LaW III>0,SUM(((101-LaW III)*0.01*(3/6)),(4/6)*IF(LaW IV="",-1,((101-LaW IV)*0.01)),(5/6)*IF(LaW V="",-1,((101-LaW V)*0.01)),IF(LaW VI="",-1,((101-LaW VI)*0.01))),IF(LaW IV>0,SUM(((101-LaW IV)*0.01*(4/6)),(5/6)*IF(LaW V="",-1,((101-LaW V)*0.01)),IF(LaW VI="",-1,((101-LaW VI)*0.01))),IF(LaW V>0,SUM(((101-LaW V)*0.01*(5/6))),0)))))

For this first formula each rank is given points based on ([101-rank]/100)
We had to deal with the issue of blanks - blank scores are given a value of 101 (meaning you get 0 points) if they occur BEFORE a legion has ever ranked.
If they FOLLOW a legion ranking at some point - they are given a score of 201 (meaning -1 points). This is time weighted as explained above.

    Formula 2 (Tier Bonus):
    Code:
    =SUM((6/6)*(IF(LaW VI=1,1,IF(AND(LaW VI>1,LaW VI<11),0.75,IF(AND(LaW VI>10,LaW VI<21),0.5,IF(AND(LaW VI>20,LaW VI<51),0.25))))),(5/6)*(IF(LaW V=1,1,IF(AND(LaW V>1,LaW V<11),0.75,IF(AND(LaW V>10,LaW V<21),0.5,IF(AND(LaW V>20,LaW V<51),0.25))))),(4/6)*(IF(LaW IV=1,1,IF(AND(LaW IV>1,LaW IV<11),0.75,IF(AND(LaW IV>10,LaW IV<21),0.5,IF(AND(LaW IV>20,LaW IV<51),0.25))))),(3/6)*(IF(LaW III=1,1,IF(AND(LaW III>1,LaW III<11),0.75,IF(AND(LaW III>10,LaW III<21),0.5,IF(AND(LaW III>20,LaW III<51),0.25))))),(2/6)*(IF(LaW II=1,1,IF(AND(LaW II>1,LaW II<11),0.75,IF(AND(LaW II>10,LaW II<21),0.5,IF(AND(LaW II>20,LaW II<51),0.25))))),(1/6)*(IF(LaW I=1,1,IF(AND(LaW I>1,LaW I<11),0.75,IF(AND(LaW I>10,LaW I<21),0.5,IF(AND(LaW I>20,LaW I<51),0.25))))))

For this second formula any legion placing 1st gains 1 point
    2nd-10th gain .75 of a point
    11th-20th, gain .5 of a point
    21st-50th gain .25 of a point
This is also time weighted as explained above.

The results of these two formulas are added together and legions are then ranked in order from highest total to lowest total.

So now that you know how it works CLICK HERE and see where your legion ranks!

Heads up on FTB: Degenerates. We are now known as Fear The Boot! who finished at #133 last event after having the pleasure of fighting Defiant twice in the last day.

Since you have SHC populating TNR Emancipator for Law 1-3, you can add the Crimson Elite ranks to TNR-Liberator, according to my source, should have been 21, 9 (although you have TCA there), 30 for Law 1-3

There's a link at the top to input information from previous LaW scores.

Any missing info is vastly appreciated.

Please try to include screenshots if you have them saved of previous LaWs (or current).

gold squad/elite is 30 for law 3. I'm going to need more evidence since 2/3 of the ranks you give conflict with previous data.

    Great stuff Mark!

Brings back horrible memories of LAW II for L.O.L however, 5 shields down in the first 6 matches, not sure how we even managed 34th!

Liberator is already 10 for LaW II and "45ish" isn't accurate enough lol..

I hear ya lol. We got screwed in a few matches that event too. We were ranked 21 going into the last battle and all set to make top 20. Had a weaker opponent but they got a lucky 1st phase shield down and we got taken out.

So Mark just added tier bonus rankings which basically just add bonus points to scores based on ranking in one of the "reward" tiers.

So placing 1st gains 1 point
    2nd-10th gain .75 of a point
    11th-20th, gain .5 of a point
    21st-50th gain .25 of a point

This is for each event - so for MMM, they gain two bonuses of .75 points, 2 bonuses of .5 points, and one bonus of .25 points.

For a group like Revenge, they gain 1.75 bonus points. (one 1st, one 2-10)

As to how points are scaled:

Each rank is given points based on ([101-rank]/100)

We had to deal with the issue of blanks - blank scores are given a value of 101 (meaning you get 0 points) if they occur BEFORE a legion has ever ranked.

If they FOLLOW a legion ranking at some point - they are given a score of 201 (meaning -1 points).

Anyways that's the entirety of it.

If you want the rationale for the differing values of blanks - it's that we don't want to heavily penalize legions that are starting new (and therefore can't have ranked in LaW 1 or something)... but they still shouldn't rank as highly as ones that have done it consistently.

Likewise, ranking outside the top 100 is not beneficial.

I will get our complete rankings for Grand Admiral Society.

    UPDATED:

We were ranked 33 in LAW 1 I was not sure if it was 33 or 39 but I had another commander confirm 33.

Law 3 we fell off the charts after a bad run of not being able to log on:)
So we were 129. NO ranking on this chart.

Very Nice! Just to note, TNR is a merger of Crimson Elite and SHC, so the earlier LAWs (i think 1-3) were pre-merger ranks. Emancipator was CE, and Liberator was the SHC ship.
