Well since Arena section is the only one that hasn't had a full guide yet, I will try to make this one the be all and end all guide that will cover all aspects of the Arena.

Keep in mind some parts are purely subjective and is written based on my own experience, the purpose of the guide is only to give you basic ideas of how to form an Arena team and that's it, I'm not in charge of deciding how you should play your own game. Try to experience around with various setups and find something that fits your style/resources. Sometime a setup that works for others doesn't necessarily mean that it will work for you, RNG is weird like that.

First section will cover all Arena rewards in the game, including in JP even. There is one in Hyperion Material guide but it gets pushed down and is quite hard to see as well so I will try to add some more details. Since I don't know Japanese I will not translate the name for the spheres and will update later when they come to Global.

Ah.... the dreaded, constant questions about Arena AI order and how should I put my units etc. This post will cover about some of the main AI patterns and my experiences on them.

    Arena AI

    Type A:
    • 68% total chance to use BB without conditions
    • Cover a lot of meta Arena units: Selena, Kikuri, Quaid, Krantz, Selena, Zenia, Lucius, etc
    • That said, for a team that also relies on attacking and not just using BB, too many units of this type can be a double edge sword. Mostly because of the attack AI that has 30% to target HP min enemy, they have a high chance of keep targeting a dead unit = waste damage while leaving 4 enemies left means higher risk as well.
    • Still a very good type nevertheless.
    • Example notable units:
    [IMG] [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
    Type B:
    • Extremely rare type that is almost extinct
    • Not much to say, has 60% chance to BB without condition but that's about it
    • Example notable units:
    [IMG] [IMG]

    Type C:
    • Has 68% chance to use BB if the checked target has >50% HP, naturally means that it's better to put them at the top for most of the cases.
    • The >50% HP condition actually doesn't matter most of the cases, since enemies usually heal back to full via HC after their turns. Also after testing I can say that just one enemy with >50% HP is enough to fill the condition.
    • Example notable units:
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Type D:
    • This type needs the target to have <50% HP to have 60% BB chance, if the requirement fails it will switch to 30% chance to BB without any conditions. Total chance when combine both is 72%
    • Surprisingly, this Arena AI can be put everywhere and not just at the bottom like most people thought. Reason is a 0% HP (dead) enemy will not activate the <50% HP condition, if you place these units at the top chances that they will be able to fill the condition before the enemies gets killed by someone else from your team
    • Similar to type C, just one enemy in the opponent team with <50% is enough to proc
    • Overall kinda of a mixed bag AI, can't be compared to type A and C, but not so bad and still usable if you lack resources
    • Example notable units:
    [IMG][IMG][IMG] [IMG][IMG]

    Type E:
    • 100% chance to BB but the condition is extreme as well
    • Basically type D but up to eleven
    • Honestly, I kept trying to make use of this type but just couldn't, way too inconsistent and may as well pretend that this type doesn't exist...
    • Example notable units
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]
    __________________________________________________________________
Overall try to stick with Type A and C for Arena and you will be fine. Other types can work but not as consistent, and require more strategies when it comes to position placement

    Sphere Building
Picking proper spheres is an extremely vital part of Arena and can decide the outcome of your battles. This post exists to give you some basic ideas to pick which sphere. Obviously different team setups require different sphere setups as well.

    The +Hit sphere line:
Lexida, Shiny Anklet, Sinister Orb, Hallowed Skull
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
    • The king of Arena spheres, as they not only increase your DC to fill the team BB, but also increase your damage output via the extra hits
    • Lexida even has +%HP which also boosts the unit's survivability as well, making it the ultimate sphere and should exist in all team buildings even when you don't use Selena
    • Naturally, these spheres benefit units who has great amount of DC more. Some examples are: Selena (36 DC), Atro (48 DC), Kikuri (48 DC), Lucius (52 DC) and so forth
    • Surprisingly doesn't sync with +Hit units compared stuffs like Divine Blade
    • Aside from Shiny Anklet post revamp which can stack with Status Up sphere => hello one-shot frontier.
The Increase %BC drop sphere line:
Advent Solace, Omni Gizmo, Sol Creator, Thief Cloak, Virtue Stone, etc
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
    • Used to be THE go to spheres for Arena in the past, especially Sol since it is free. Nowadays they are kinda redundant with the crazy amount of DC a unit can have
    • Still, if you want to use them then try to stick them on units with high DC or with +Hit abilities either via ES or spheres
    • One or two should be enough since there are a lot better options to pick these days

The Massively boosts % ATK for x turns line:
Amanohabaken, Masamune, Divine Blade, Soul Blade, Blighted Seal, etc
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
    • Amano has extra 20% crit chance compared to Masamune 75% DEF. I found Amano being better in most of the case if you want brute force which is the point of these spheres. Masamune is probably better for hybrid BB spam team that you can deal a bit more damage while surviving a bit better as well for 2nd turn BB
    • Also Divine Blade severely reduces damage from +Hit units due to the way formulas work, keep that in mind (though ES doesn't work for opponents though, for now)
    • Once again keep in mind, if the battles drag out more than 2/4 turns due to later units being able to tank BB or rules, then you are pretty much sphereless at that point (aside from Blighted Seal). Though the chance for it to happen is quite low so don't worry much
The Critical hit chance increase sphere line:
Death Axe, Geldnite Axe, Havoc Axe, Demon Sickle, etc
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
    • A lot better for the new Arena meta since BB management becomes so easy. Yes crit is RNG-reliant but things are different when you have 5 units attacking
    • Work really well with Ultor. With just a mere Havoc you can already reaches 50% critical chance, Demon Sickle pushes it even further to 60%
    • With Death Axe you don't even need Ultor lead to work and can get 60% critical rate right at the bat, Death Axe + Blighted Seal is probably my favorite combo ever
The +% BB fill rate spheres:
Alzeon Pearl, True Ore, Heresy Orb, Destrica, etc

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]
    • Life-saver for units that need to reach SBB to become AOE ie Rize, Ultor and Zenia who all are god tier for Arena
    • Seriously, they are really important. It's better to sacrifice a bit of damage and such to have guaranteed or much higher chance to reach SBB especially when you are hit with wacky rules (empty gauge or no LS)
    • If you can't manage to get these spheres (Heresy is free though), then BC regen spheres like Kurouga/Sacred Crystal may also work
The Increases % Stats as sub slot sphere line:
Heresy Orb, Fallacy Orb, Ihsir's Guise, Cosmic Dust (post revamp), Impiety Orb, etc
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
    • Very good to use for 2nd slot simply because they increase your units survivability further. As long as your unit doesn't die, you can have higher chance to BB in the 2nd round and higher chance to win overall
    • Cosmic Dust/Impiety Orb even give Immunity which is extremely important and will be covered next
    • A bit higher damage as well for the EX spheres.
    The Status immunity sphere line:
Cosmic Dust, Star of Hope, Impiety Orb, etc
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]
    • The counter to one of the most annoying rule in the game: Status Ailment Active
    • Well known as back up spheres for units like Selena/Koltz.
      • Say your team fail to use BB on the 2nd turn
      • The enemy team wipe you except for Selena thanks to her ES
      • You can still win if Selena use SBB this turn, but wait, she is cursed/paralyzed now
      • GG (And mind you this has happened to me one or two time already)

    Arena Meta
With the amount of units we have these days, having a good DC and Arena AI is not enough (lol at people taking Lucius as Arena god). Well they are okay if you are f2p and just doing Arena for fun, but for hardcore players who want to push it further, then units should possess these attributes in order to stand out

    +Hit:
A unit with +Hit ability can kill two birds in one stone, providing more BCs while dealing more damage at the same time. With a +100% ATK lead with something like a Divine Blade, they can deal around 600% total damage with normal attack, which translate into an instant one shot unless you are really unlucky or something. Proper team buildings with these units can easily let you kill 3-4 units first turn or even OTK.
    • [IMG] : Absolutely disgusting <("). Not only she has +Hit ES with 2800 base ATK + 520 ATK imp which is among the highest in the game, she is also dark type (always deal full damage) and has the best Arena AI to boost. With her sphere she basically murders everyone she touches. Zenia feels like Gimu's revenge for the lackluster Elaina and Grandt. The only weakness she has is single target BB, but honest with proper setups and only 46 BC cost for SBB, it isn't really that big of a problem at all
    • [IMG] : The queen of BB management shines just as bright in Arena. 72 DC with her ES (eats your heart out Lucius), good AI and decent ATK stats. Bestie is a force to be reckoned with.
    • [IMG] : A bit weaker than the other two, she even clashes with Selena in Quaid-like lead teams, but still the + Hit ES alone is enough to carry her to top tier. Multi elements BB/SBB is quite nice as well since it is a guaranteed wipe
    • [IMG] : Our favorite bishie demon looks kinda shafted in this category. Lowest DC, bad AI and so forth. Overall there are more consistent light units to use like Sefia, Will and later Lucius despite Raaga having +Hit ES. Maybe he can work in mono Light setup but that's about it
    Angel Idol:
    • [IMG]: Naturally comes to our mind instantly. Free, high DC, good AI and everything, Selena will stay as the Arena goddess for a long long time. Literally no weakness aside from being limited to only one
    • [IMG]: Ultor idol ES comes in out of nowhere and really saves him from the lack luster skill set he got at first from datamine. That said unlike Selena, Ultor will need a lot of supports to work. His DC is only 22, his BB is single, and his SBB needs 54 BC (41 in Arena) to turn into an AOE. However nothing a proper team can not fix. aside from that Ultor possesses a 3465 (aka Global quality, get rekt Mifune) so he can deal a massive amount of damage without the need of +Hit ES, and his sphere only adds even more damage. People usually put him as lead but I think I would prefer him as sub in with a Quaid-like lead to support his BB management
    • [IMG]: Ivris feels like the Raaga version of this category. Low ATK stats, her SBB doesn't deal damage and may ruin your streak if she reaches it along with a very bad Arena AI, overall not a fan of her in Arena. That said I have seen some people used her with decent success so pick your poison
    • [IMG]: A little different compared to former examples since Koltz ES doesn't have 100% chance to proc, instead he has 40% chance to avoid death up to 2 times. Basically his ES is a bit more RNG reliant (though Arena is RNG reliant to begin with) than others. However he makes up for that with AoE BB compared to Ultor and an indefinitely better AI than Ivris so all is good

    +% ATK on Full HP:
    • [IMG]: Her crazy high base ATK combining with her ES allows her to deal crazy amount of damage. A Rize with Shiny Anklet can rival units with +Hit ES. Good AI and everything. Has single target BB problem but that's about it
    • [IMG]: Basically the fire-version of Rize. However I am not a fan of maxing a unit just for Arena purpose (at least Rize is useful for nuking purpose with Dion lead). Not to mention he clashes with Ultor and Bestie in rainbow teams, not my cup of tea
    • [IMG]: His +% ATK is only 50% compared to Rize and Alpha. Also a bit derpy Arena AI (type D). However he makes up for that thanks to being Light and having the highest DC among the three along with AOE BB. So pick your poison

    Rainbow lead:
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]
At first it was thought that Krantz and Michele outright outclass Quaid as the lead slot, however things become a little bit different when it comes to Global. For example Michele clashes with Bestie/Ultor. Krantz has the weakest BB management lead among the three (+12% BC drop barely means anything) while Quaid is the strongest due to having -20% gauge + 30% Ares in one package which solves the STBB which is the major problems for a lot of powerful Global units (Zenia/Ultor). Once again, it depends on your preferences/resources to choose in this case

    Team examples:
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG] (probably my favorite)
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    +%ATK without conditions:
A hidden gem for Arena, even I didn't think of him until I revamped this guide. His lead gives +80% ATK/DEF/REC when BB >=50% which is all the time in Arena unless you get the Empty BB gauge Rule along with 50% BB fill rate. The ATK boost is only 20% lower than other leader, however all of his boosts have no element requirements and this is huge since it allow you to stack as many Zenia in your team as possible. Stats, DC and AI all are excellent. At least this will give him some uses if you accidentally pull him because he is kinda useless everywhere outside.

Team example: Duran lead + insert dem Zenia/Bestie/Iris/Ultor/Koltz here whatever you like + Selena
    __________________________________________________________________________
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]
These leaders are somewhat the same so I group them together. Each has their own pros and cons. Toutetsu has the highest +%ATK boost but no further bonus. Ultor has lesser boost but gives bonus 20% crit instead, along with the Idol ES on himself and Kafka gives status ailments if you lack other options to pick. They all share one common thing is that they give no BB management support, so I don't think they can sync well with units like Zenia/Ryze or even Ultor himself if you are using Toutetsu/Kafka

    Team example:
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Mono Dark:
With the presence of Zenia, mono Dark comes back to the top at full force. Reason I pick Kikuri over Magress and future Lunaris is because her LS gives 50% fill rate and Zenia needs as much help as possible to reach her SBB, even more so when there are multiple of them in your team. For JP players Lunaris is better I suppose

    Team example:
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Mono Light:
Despite the fact that mono Light doesn't have any special units with either + Hit (there is Raaga but he sucks) and Idol effect, they make up for it with utterly RIDICULOUS DC. Atro has 48 DC, Will also has 48 DC, freaking Lucius has 52 DC. You don't even need Sefia as lead slot with these amount of DC and they all have AoE BB and good Arena AI. Also very F2P friendly since most of the units are free.

    Team example:
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
You can drop Sefia for Selena if you want a back up for emergencies + more free factors

    Mono Water:
Contradicts with mono Light, Water possesses both units with +Hit and Idol ES in one package, which makes it possibly the most powerful mono element for Arena. Furthermore most Thunder units are either average or sucky in Arena so you don't need to worry much about it (not to mention a proper equipped Iris can probably one shot them anyway). Really, if you can build up this team then enjoy slaughtering everything while having crazy tankiness and BB management at the same time.

    Team example:
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

And done. Feel free to discuss anything from this point. It's my first time writing this so you are welcomed to feedback if there is any error.

If you are asking about AI, Ultor is type C while Roset is type A

Lol I don't play JP that much to know how it works. Though from what I have seen, if you get max 200 ABP win as base then after bonus it's probably isn't that hard to gain 300-350 ABP total.

Well it's not like you only the 4m2 sphere is valuable lol, the prizes along the line are also already broken enough, stuffs like War Crown, Summoner Key, Buffer Jewel etc

Realistically for normal player, Geldnite Axe and Flag Flower are totally reachable while still being one of the strongest spheres in the game.
