Ability Material Omega Event (upcoming)

Here is the information on the new event that will be going live today with the Balance Update.

Ability Material Omega Event: This special limited time event will reward players with Ability Materials of all levels, including the elusive Omega Material! In addition players who defeat the lowest level of the event will be awarded a large number of Credits. Here are some additional details on the event:

• Each day of the event will only require 3 characters from a predetermined list
• Ability Material Omega is only available at Level 80 outside of this special event
• The new event will allow players to earn enough Omegas over a 12-day period to level up a single character's abilities
• Each event will have 3 levels of difficulty
  • Easy - Unlocks at Level 30
  • Medium - Unlocks at Level 50
  • Hard - Unlocks at Level 70

 

Hopefully by the time this comes out we'll know who we want to sink these into

 

I sure hope I have 3 characters from the predetermined list that can actually do something...

 

I wonder what they consider a "large number of credits"...

This event looks like a good way to force people to developer a wider range of characters, just kinda sucks for the newer players. Depends on how large the predetermined list is though

It's not like newer players will need them anytime soon. I mean it ends up costing a lot to get attacks to level 6 or 7 as it is. Of course, winning with those random characters might be difficult. I probably have 2 good characters for each day. Some I have more.

 

Yeah same here, it looks like they built the lists with the purpose of splitting the usual teams over multiple days

 

This first challenge is super easy at tier 3. Good news!
You can refresh for 200 crystals, too

Edit: It goes up to 400 after first refresh. Not doing it anymore.

 

Looks like I'll have to sit out three days -- won't meet the requirements (two if I bother to activate yoda at 5, which isn't super tempting.)

So may end up capitalizing on at least a couple 20o refreshes, make sure I've got enough omega. Alas.

Hummm.... Looks like if I can scrounge 3 more JKG shards by Saturday, I'm covered there. And 36 GW Tuscan shards by Tuesday, and I'm covered there. That would be full coverage. Question is, would the underdeveloped tunes cut it (probably, if today's was any indication) and is it otherwise worth it?

 

I do like that we can do all three battles, not just one. The extra Credits are nice. I just can't bring myself to spend 200 Crystals for an extra Omega Mat. That's just too high for me. Plus, I imagine the event will come back. Even if it doesn't, I'll be at level 80 soon enough and be able to get more then.

 

Thursday and Saturday are no go for me

 

Anyone else still using Thursday toons after the reset? It's fine with me, actually have 5 maxed from that list, so a breeze. Just wondering what that may mean for the rest of the week (and whether it's worth heroic steps to finish off the other lists -- which is doable for me, just not ideal).

 

Same toons here as well. Maybe it's on a 24 hour timer?

 

It looks like there's two different timer that each triger a reset. It should be possible to do 2 battles a day, so long as you do them right. The opponent reset (days of the week) just reset for me at 3:00 PM EST. The daily reset (normal game reset for daily and battles) occurs at 1:00 AM EST.

So I've been able to do the even 3 times already without paying any Crystals. You just have to do one battle between 1:00 AM - 2:59 PM and the second between 3:00 PM and 12:59 AM and you can do 2 battles a day. The times would be different in a different time zone, but the countdown timer in-game will show you what I mean.

It is possible that it was a glitch correction. EA didn't realize they had the Thurs event for Fri and needed to fix it. We'll know for sure if tomorrow happens the same way.

And it looks like they caught it. Now, both the current events end at the same time. I guess an extra Omega was good enough.

 

Well, I thought I'd write something regarding who you should be using the Omegas on. I reached 76 the other day, so I imagine some of you are getting close or thinking about who you're going to upgrade. I was able to do two characters and chose Qui-Gon and Daka. Overall, I was pretty pleased.

I used my one Mk 5 Arakyd Droid Caller on my Qui-Gon, so he's a little stronger than the average Qui-Gon right now. It's also going to be possible for him to reach Gear X under the current level cap. The level 8 upgrade added a 65% chance to remove 30% turn meter from whoever Qui-Gon hits. This has come in handy when my Geo Soldier calls in him as an assist. It's not much, but I feel that was better than most of my other characters that just had a damage increase.

The star turned out to be Daka. In hindsight, I should have gotten her up to Gear IX instead of Qui-Gon. She owns the current meta and her level 8 basic increases her stun chance. Now, it has a 60% stun on the target and a 55% secondary stun on another. From people who did get her to IX, I've heard her Potency goes up. Even with her at VIII, she's easily the most frustrating opponent to fight (more than Dooku ever was). If you don't have her at 7 stars, I'd definitely recommend going for her
